Boy Trouble, Help???????

Okay so I really like this guy. He is a year older than me and in my grade, but I think he likes some other girl and she is perfect. I am a little overweight, but I am still pretty. But this other girl has a dirty mouth and spreads bad rumors about his guy, he dated her but he broke up with her and I think she is keeping a grudge. Any suggestions on how to talk to him. He is in my homeroom, and in my second cl. But I don't have much time to talk.
