Do i need to have a good sound card to use Professional guitar modeling software?

hello. i have a sound blaster PCI150 sound card. the issue im having is that i have like a 1 or 2 second delay from when i play the guitar string. i have Peavey's Revalver MKIII, Amplitube 2 and Overloud TH1. in all of them, when i play the strings, theres a delay but when i try to make the buffer rate small er so there would be no delay, it sounds like crap. does this mean my sound card sucks or it's got nothing to do with ti?
