How many miles on an F-150 before it dies?

I am looking at purchasing a 1993 Ford F-150, but it already has ~210,000 miles on it. The seller said that F-150's commonly get as many as 300k miles before they turn into redneck lawn ornaments. Does anyone have any experience with old Ford pickups who could tell me if that's true? Thanks.
