One of the two girth billets broke on my dressage saddle?

I got the saddle as a gift from my aunt. It is leather and there is only one hole (at the top) left. It broke off attached to the dressage girth when my friend removed it. I rode in it yesterday without issues though I was pretty wary. Are there any converters or extensions or such that can be used? I think it broke because it was well-worn and hadn't been replenished properly before. Please don't post answers such as 'sell it' or 'get a new saddle'.. I can't afford one right now, and I am sure there is something that could help..
