So I've been told that I'm a victim or purple prose when I write.That I'm over descriptive.How can I fix this?

Go through your prose and take out every word that doesn't serve a purpose. Making sure every word serves a definite purpose is the foundation for clear, concise writing. Cutting down on the amount of needless adverbs you use, would be a good place to start.
