The Store director talked to another employee about firing me for illegitimate reasons Can i take legal action?

Recently a fellow employee at my job called and informed me that the director where I work was discussing terminating me because she hasn't "seen me" and discussing personal information pertaining to my attendance and etc. I'm always on time for work, work very hard, and when I can't be at work due to military duty (army reserves) I always take proper doentary measures to inform my manager in a timely and well organized manner and make sure I work min required hours . This store director never comes to the section where I work and had the nerve to blab to someone else that doesn't work in my section either about firing me!! Does this violate any of my rights as an employee? And if it does could I take legal action because I really feel like she's slandering my name behind my back and I know that's not right so she should be taught a lesson
