His choice, fine. Make sure your name is on all the property titles along side his name. Then get a job (even just a part time one) and take out life insurance for both of you. You pay the premiums and name yourself as his benificiary and the kids as the beneficiaries on your policy. Your money, your insurance. Then whether or not he has a will, you will automatically inherit the house, cars, etc. Whatever your has your name on the title. Understand this also makes you equally responsible for all debts he leaves behind. Get a good sized policy that you know will cover your expenses if he dies first and carry you until your retirement or with minimum need to work. Most men don't view death as women do. They find the actual preparations like making a will, almost as we women would feel going to their funeral. He probably just doesn't want to feel that way. Best of luck to you.
